We help curious and mindful people who have made progress on their healing and are now looking for the next step.

Who We Help

Healing is not about going back to where you were, it is about becoming greater than you can possibly imagine.

At Cora we honor the duality of your body as both energy and matter.

If you break a bone, or dislocate your knee, you need a healer who can address your body as the physical structure that it is. However, that injury might have also come with some fear or anger. You also need a healer who can see how the injury will never fully heal until you can integrate the stored emotional experience. At Cora our doctors do both. We can see how your body is physically injured and also how it is emotionally stressed. We can see the complex interplay between the experience of being a physical body and an emotional being.

Our approach honors how energy and emotions exist as physical manifestations in the structure of your joints, muscles and organs. We give you a healing experience that is as grounded in physical medicine as it is present to the energy fields.

At Cora we offer trauma informed care for all communities. Dr. Meggie has taken additional trainings in trauma informed care with Peter Levine and Gender Affirming care with Howard Brown.

It isn’t mind and body.
Your bodymind is inseparable from itself.

BodyMind Healing

From the stress of daily physical activity to the stress of making friends and adjusting to a new teacher at school, being a kid can be rough. At Cora we have helped young athletes improve their hockey shot, get back to gymnastics competition and heal from jumping off the couch with a bit too much enthusiasm. We have also helped kids adjust better to the stress of a new school year and standardized tests.

We have a dedicated kids room with toys, books and games for kids to play with during their visit. We do not expect children to be still or quiet during their time in the office. Kids are often so comfortable in the office, they stay past their appointment time just to keep playing.

CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS

Even in the best of circumstances, labor and delivery are physically challenging experiences for babies. A traumatic birth, or an abnormal position in utero can cause misalignments that lead to difficultly nursing, latching, digesting or moving hips and shoulders. Even if the pregnancy and birth process went smoothly, sometimes babies have trouble sleeping, eating and moving. It is never too early to bring your baby in to get checked out.

Learning to sit, crawl and walk add additional layers of challenges to young bodies. If your baby is having trouble with those milestones, we may be able to help.

We provide comprehensive specialty care for all stages of pregnancy. From week 4 to 42 to postpartum, getting adjusted can relieve the aches and pains of pregnancy. Research shows that women who had chiropractic care during pregnancy have shorter and easier labors and births. Frequently patients tell us they wish they had started chiropractic care earlier because it makes their pregnancy so much easier and more enjoyable.
Our office has pillows that are specialized for pregnancy, allowing you to lie face down with ease and comfort.

Common results from chiropractic care during pregnancy:
* Feeling that there is “more room” inside the belly and ribcage
* Decreased or elimination of sciatica symptoms
* Decreased headaches and back pain
* Increased ease with breath and less shortness of breath
* Decreased feeling of instability & pain in the pelvis & pubic bone
* Better and deeper sleep
* Decreased morning sickness
* Decreased anxiety about the birth and postpartum period
* Increased ease in labor and delivery

You found a doula and a birth team that were going to allow you to have the birth you wanted, but the baby is breech.

Pregnancy Care

We apply the Webster Technique for pregnant people who need help with uterine and pelvic alignment. It helps your womb and pelvis expand and grow during all stages of pregnancy. The technique is often sought out by those looking for assistance with problems with fetal positioning.

The most common reason babies do not turn their head down toward the end of the 3rd trimester is pelvic misalignment or tightening of your pelvic muscles and ligaments. This can prevent your baby from having space to move into the proper position. Chiropractic can help the uterus return to its proper alignment and shape. In turn, this often allows your baby to turn head down. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment method that balances pelvic muscles and ligaments.

Chiropractic care early in pregnancy often avoids these problems. The doctors encourage you to begin chiropractic care as early as possible, in order to prevent problems in fetal positioning from occurring and to help make pregnancy, labor and delivery as easy as possible.

KRISTIN S.

Meggie has been seeing our 3.5 year old daughter for GI issues and our 1 year old son for sleep and has truly helped both of them. I appreciate her gentle approach, clear communication about what she is noticing, and friendly/nurturing manner with our kids. They both enjoy coming in for their adjustments and we've noticed not only improvements with the presenting concerns, but also lifted moods and increased energy in the days after their sessions.

Cora Health is incredible! I found Dr. Meggie two years ago when I was pregnant and in desperate pain. She garnered such amazing results; after just one session I saw huge improvements. She helped me through a full recovery and my body felt back to normal. Since then, I go to Dr. Meggie for help recovering from any kind of physical trauma and I now, because I am expecting my third child, I see her weekly during pregnancy! Thank you for all that you do to help!

JUSTINE M.

The doctors here are incredible. I have visited them with extreme back pain and gotten total relief. The soft touch and gentle body work truly works wonders. Highly recommend!

JENNY H.

I’ve been working with the chiropractors here for several years and I am so amazed by my body’s ability to heal itself now. I used to get major stiffness in my neck and lose mobility for days at a time, but since coming here it rarely happens and when it does, I’ve been able to breath through it and open it up on my own. I’ve also felt an improvement with my sleep, headaches and anxiety. Go see Meggie and tell her what’s bothering you.

SARAH M.

I have been going to Chiropractic First for many years. All the doctors are wonderful and have helped me in so many ways. In addition to helping with back pain they have helped me avoid foot surgery for a painful foot condition, made my second pregnancy so much easier and less painful than my first and helped with jaw pain from TMJ. Truly Amazing!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is wrong with me?

I can tell you now—there is nothing wrong with you. There are places where your body isn’t healing. And there may be places where your body is over-communicating about pain. Your body may feel like it’s being threatened by things that aren’t all that dangerous (like allergies or anxiety). But the problem isn’t you, or your body.

The problem is the way your body and brain are communicating with eachother. We need to help them get back on the same page. During your exam we will look for specific indicators about how well your body and brain are communicating, and what is preventing you from healing. We will use those indicators to create your Adaptability score. On your second visit, you will learn what we found. Additionally, we’ll let you know how you responded to your first adjustment and how we expect you to progress.

How often will I need to come in to get results?

We never know exactly how people will heal. Many people feel changes after their first visit, but some people feel more sore after their first visit. Most people notice changes within a few weeks of consistent treatment.

Based on your exam and history, we will make you a treatment plan tied to your Adaptability score. On your second visit you will receive a treatment plan and we will talk about how long we think it will take you to heal. In general chiropractic energy medicine requires far less visits than traditional chiropractic, but repetition is often required.

Do you take my insurance?

You can use your FSA or HSA to pay for your treatments. We are happy to give you receipts to document those payments.

Cora provides a very specific and advanced form of chiropractic. It is not covered by Medicare and does not adhere to most insurance companies’ definition of chiropractic. Because of that, we are not in-network with insurance.

Your insurance company may cover your treatment out-of-network. We bill our services under the code 97139. You can contact your insurance company to see if they will cover that code. We are happy to provide you super-bills that you can submit to your insurance carrier. They may reimburse you for your treatment.

How much will it cost?

The first visit, which includes a consultation, and exam and adjustment, is $170.

On your second visit you will get a treatment plan and we will discuss the financial options for your care, including package discounts. Treatment cost between $60-$68 a visit.

We look forward to speaking with you on your first visit and helping you heal!

Do you offer different treatment plans?

We offer different Care Programs depending on your goals.  Your Care level will be determined in large part by your Adaptability Score. On your first visit the doctors will take a history and do an exam. They will then analyze those findings and come up with your Adaptability Score. On your second visit, they will present you with your Score, let you know how they arrived at it and tell you what level of care corresponds with your Score. Over time, they will update your Score and move you through the care plans depending on your goals.

Active Care
Get patched up and address a very immediate need.
Active Care is for people whose pain, injury or other concerns are impacting them on an almost daily basis. Patients often experience a significant resolution of physical pain symptoms by the end of their Active Care plan. They also tend to notice increased range of motion and ease in movement. Additionally, they often report some improvement in sleep and, energy levels, and improvements in mood! Many people start with an Active Care plan before moving on to Foundational Care.

Foundational Care
Address the deeper problems that are causing your symptoms.
Foundational Care will address the underlying causes of your pain or discomfort. By addressing these concerns on deeper levels, you will be able to respond more effectively to physical, mental and emotional stress. People who want to prevent problems from recurring or who want to assure healthy aging are often in Foundational Care plans. Patients in the Foundational Care plan report more pronounced improvements in pain and injuries. They also report better sleep, improvements in their focus, digestion, mood, anxiety and immune health. It also helps with the speed of recovery and sets them up for fewer concerns down the road.

Adaptive Care
Increase your mind, body and spirit’s ability to adapt to the world around you.
Adaptive care is for people who are looking to improve their ability to adapt and respond to the stresses and challenges of the world. They want to be better able to roll with the ups and downs of life, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In earlier stages of healing they started seeing major improvements in their mental and emotional life. Now they want to find out what else is possible. They do not have a lot of pain, but when they do experience injury, they heal much faster than they used to. People who have a history of working with chiropractors, or body workers or have done a lot of yoga or meditation may start in Adaptive Care. However, most people find they need a round of Active or Foundational Care before they can move into Adaptive Care.

Transformational Care
Enhance your body’s ability to experience health, creativity and vitality.
Transformational Care is for people who are looking to make lasting changes in their health and also in their life. In addition to decreased physical pain, increased mental and emotional strength and improved immune function, people in the Transformational Care Program report improvement in their relationships with themselves and others. They get clearer on who they are in the world and how their body and mind function together to create their experience of life. They are looking for a deeper and clearer understanding of their world and use chiropractic to help make that happen
